I began writing the majority of my poetry beginning in 1996 as a means to express and to heal. It is such a wonderful venue to release the

demons and allow the light to SHINE!

Writing, reading, performing and listening to other poets has enabled me to open my heart to the reality that we are “all” fascinating, precious wonders of God and of the Universe. I believe we are all here to help, serve, love and understand each other. Each poem I write is a baby step towards that belief system.

LAYERS

The layers

will be peeled

slowly

painfully

at first

But as time passes

will fall freely

Finally

relieving a heart

of darkness

Granting the sun

permission

to shine through

Granting

the fresh air

permission

to cleanse

heart’s infection

from severe burns.

Scars will remain

but the agony

will lessen

and lessen

And a heart will be grateful

..at last.
